Reasons behind the change in the North Yorkshire Custody contract

I write in connection with your request for information that was received by the York and North Yorkshire Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC) on 12.06.2024

Question/ Request:

I have been trying to find information/reports on the reasons behind the change in the North Yorkshire Custody contract.

Other than getting a cheaper service, I would like to know what else was considered when changing provider.

The change from a private provider to the NHS around 2014 is all available online,  which explains the safety aspects and how the NHS is not only recommended but the safer option, I can find nothing for this 2024 change.

I wish to advise you that there is no information held by the OPFCC in order to answer your request.

This is because the information is held by North Yorkshire Police and not the OPFCC.

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within the OPFCC.
