Meet Jo Coles, Deputy Mayor for Policing, Fire and Crime

Personal advice surgeries
Personal advice surgeries enable you to talk to the Deputy Mayor about their role or raise any policing, fire, or community safety issues.
Personal advice surgeries are open to police volunteers, staff and officers.
Before you meet the Deputy Mayor, you will be asked a number of questions so that we can prepare in advance as necessary. It is important to note that Deputy Mayor cannot personally intervene or influence a live investigation, whether about a police complaint or a criminal matter. This is because doing so could jeopardise the investigation.
However, if you have a complaint against the police you wish to raise or follow up, the Deputy Mayor and their Customer Service team will be happy to guide and support you through the process.
Surgeries are divided into 15 minute private appointments. You are welcome to bring a companion, supporter or advocate to the meeting.
Personal advice surgeries are currently being held via phone or Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams works very similar to Zoom, we will send you a link to the online meeting which you can join using any internet browser.
