IDAS Calls for Trustees

Want to help to stop domestic abuse? Are you an experienced senior professional? Then the IDAS Trustee Board needs you!

Independent Domestic Abuse Services (IDAS) is a growing and innovative charity. Last year IDAS helped more than 7000 people and supported over 4000 families affected by domestic abuse. IDAS is Yorkshire’s largest charity addressing domestic abuse, serving North Yorkshire, York, Barnsley and Sheffield. With 130 staff and 50 volunteers we work every way we can to help anyone affected by domestic abuse – providing support in the home, the community, the courts, refuge accommodation and running projects in schools, universities and businesses.

This is an exciting time to join the trustee board of our fast-expanding charity which now has an income of over £4 million a year. IDAS has grown because we have proven effective and innovative ways of working. The immediate challenge for the IDAS trustee board is to ensure consolidation of our growth while continuing to develop our services and to diversify our income streams, so that we can provide the best support possible and extend our successful support to even more people.

Our Board of 12 Trustees and additional committee members gives strategic direction to the charity and ensures everything we do is consistent with our overall aims. We welcome new members from all backgrounds, and particularly welcome experience in the areas of business development, change management, income generation, HR, digital & IT, and safeguarding.
